The basic audi coverage is superior to the average car manufacturer, paying for all basic wear and major parts for four years or 50,000 miles. The Audi is a large investment, though, and to avoid paying for complex and expensive repairs, they also offer several versions of the audi extended warranty.
Different Warranty Plans
Your Audi has the option of five categories of the ‘Pure Protection program,’ which includes:
-The Powertrain/Drivetrain protection, covering major components in general and catastrophic mechanical failures.
-The Silver Plan, which includes the Powertrain protection as well as expensive expected replacements. These include brakes, air conditioning compressors and adjustments, power steering, suspension and electrical systems.
-The Gold Plan embraces the Silver features and includes advanced technological parts and advanced performance component parts.
-The Gold Plus warranty encompasses all of the regular Gold plan, and any additional ‘high-tech’ features not listed, and the Platinum warranty takes care of just about everything else that might go wrong with the car.
Basic Protection, Extended Service
Audi warranties can be purchased to cover regular maintenance, as well. For example, an extended service plan can pay for a rental car when the owner’s automobile is having work performed on it. This plan reimburses owners up to $35 per day for a maximum of ten days.
For people without AAA, towing coverage is available. This plan pays up to $75 of towing expenses if there is a mechanical breakdown covered by the owner’s warranty. This is a limit set per individual breakdown.
‘Travel coverage’ assists the owner when they are more than one hundred miles from their home address, and the use of a towing service is impractical. The travel plan pays $75 for each day the owner is stranded. The plan is meant to reimburse lodging and food expenses for up to five days or $375. As with towing reimbursement, the breakdown must be considered covered under the owner’s warranty to qualify.
Audi offers other ‘Pure Protection’ service plans, including ‘wear & tear,’ and fluids coverage which handles the necessary fluid and parts replacement costs of warranted repairs up to 50,000 miles. However, the optional tire warranty service is perhaps the most practical.
Good tires on a fine automobile are a major expense, and seldom is only a single tire replaced as it creates tread wear issues. Consider that tires are parts which frequently need to be swapped out to maintain safety standards, and this extended service plan is a smart decision.
Extended warranties from Audi relieve the stress and expense of car maintenance and repairs. The additional cost is good insurance against an unexpected major repair as well. Consider the cost of the vehicle in relation to the expense of the extended coverage before buying. A warranty is basically insurance specific to the manufacturer, and just like an insurance policy, warranties and service plans are meant to help when we least expect a problem.
An added bonus is the transferability of the warranty, which increases the resale value. If the plan is still active when the car is sold, the new owner will receive the benefits.
